Hillarys has always included the suburbs of Hillarys and Padbury, but other suburbs included have varied from election to election. The area around Sorrento voted 66.0% Liberal in 2017, while the area transferred from Joondalup had a Labor two-party preferred vote of 52.4%, so the changes cut the Liberal margin from 4.1% to an estimated 0.4%.
